I’m working on a portrait of the Tenth Doctor. I had started it a few weeks back, almost right after finishing the Eleventh Doctor drawing, and have only come back to it a few times, but now I’m feeling inspired to finish it, and liking how it’s coming along.
P is for Platinum
The Metal Men’s only female member until Tin created his own girlfriend, Platinum was also the only one given a human name, Tina. She also was lovesick for her creator, Will Magnus, whom I recall always treated her horribly.
I have also noticed that I tend to resort to this pose way too often, and there’s one more sketch coming soon that does it again. I have to try to not do this 3/4 to the right pose for a while.
The old man was initially seen as just an interesting graphic element but as his “01” pin demonstrates, he’s there to show the variety of appearances androids take in society. My theory is that if androids were persecuted, they would try to blend in as much as possible, making themselves look older, recede their hairlines, and overall mimic human attributes that people looking to be hostile towards them might not expect.
And credit is due where credit is due.
Easily my favorite comics show in all of everything. EEEK!!
Hopefully, this will be the year that I’m able to get back for FLUKE. I miss going.
I'm created Jet-Pack Jenny in 1998 and have published her as a webcomic since 2001. The most recent adventure is collected as Factor of 01. I also am running the AlphaBabes Tumblr (alphababes.tumblr.com. One of these days, I'll put links to all of the places I can be found here.
